City Movers

Chicago moving companies exist for one very important reason. It is a pain to move into the big city, especially on your own, and it’s an even larger pain to move into a new apartment or condo once you are there. There are a lot of good reasons for this, and even if you are only moving a small apartment’s worth of stuff, you should still consider the experience of experts when making your move.

The city is an unfriendly place for large trucks and trailers. Traffic is competitive and parking is at a premium (and don’t think you can get away with stuffing everything in one little compact car—there are few college students who can do that and your apartment will certainly be bigger than what they have).

It is this difficulty that leads so many to forgo cars (when looking at parking, insurance, and maintenance costs that are dramatically higher in the city) and instead rely on public transport, the CTA. Trying to do all this with a metric or non-metric ton of couches, beds, chairs, and whatever else would not be beneficial.

In short: Getting around in your truck and trailer, and parking, would be difficult and stressful. And if you’ve already been in the city for a while getting a hold of a set up to move from a friend could be very difficult as well. Why not let professionals who know the tenor of city driving take care of it and then find a loading zone to set up in, making your move faster and giving you more time to set up shop once its done.
